A workshop in Ibiza that conveys the charm of leather and the joy of manufacturing ~ A one-of-a-kind experiential event that contributes to SDGs and deepens ties with the local community ~ Ibiza Co., Ltd. held a “Manufacturing Experience Workshop for Parents and Children” at their main factory. The event was well received as an initiative to promote the SDGs and learn about sustainable manufacturing through leather pochette making and factory tours.

Initiatives to create an environment where you can learn while having fun In the workshop, pochette items will be made using leftover leather left over from the manufacturing process. You can learn about the importance of protecting the environment while feeling the wonder of “materials that would normally be thrown away having new value” and the beauty of natural materials. 2. Exciting experience with a factory tour! A behind-the-scenes look at the factory that is usually not visible to the public. This is a rare opportunity to see up close how craftsmen carefully create each bag. The children were moved and exclaimed, “Wow! That’s how they make it!” 3. Making special things that parents and children can enjoy Parents and children work together to make a pochette, which gives a great sense of accomplishment. The time you spend creating something together with your hands becomes a memory that deepens the bond between parent and child. The completed work will be a one-of-a-kind treasure.

participants Children’s smiling voices “I’m really happy that I was able to make something myself!” “I want to make it even better next time!” They seemed to genuinely feel the joy of making things. The sight of the children proudly holding their completed work and boasting to their families and staff, “I made this!” is a real sense of joy and accomplishment. Parents’ surprise and excitement We received many comments of satisfaction with the special time shared by parents and children, such as, “I could feel the growth of my children as they concentrated on their work” and “I was moved to see scraps turned into such wonderful works!” A new perspective opens up through a factory tour “I was impressed when I learned for the first time how bags are made,” and “I was surprised and respected the craftsmen’s careful handiwork.” There was a moment when my
understanding and interest in leather products increased. Through workshops, children can enjoy the fun and sense of accomplishment of making things, and parents can share the joy of watching them grow. By adding a factory tour, it was an unforgettable experience that allowed us to get closer to the technology and passion behind leather products.

The content allows you to fully experience the charm of manufacturing while observing the craftsmen’s techniques and work scenes up close. The completed work can be cherished for a long time as a family memento. 3. Possibility to spread from local to nationwide This initiative, which began in Kawaguchi City, is a model case that can be used by other regions. The spread of warm-hearted activities such as “local businesses and local residents creating the future together” will lead to a better society. This workshop is an experience full of fun and learning, and has touched many people’s hearts!
