The project is created with a unique identity and exceptional know-how by fusing Milan’s unique design codes with the cultural aesthetic signature of the collaborators, sharing a commitment to the highest standards of detail and precise
craftsmanship. Valextra has actively sought out artisans from around the world who share the same passion as us, aiming to explore artisanal and aesthetic horizons beyond the realm of luxury leather craftsmanship. Partnerships with experts in each field have resulted in an exchange of knowledge, ideas and passion, resulting in a capsule collection that celebrates the intersection of parallel materials and makers.

The repeating polka dots are formed by repeated dyeing using beeswax, creating a cloud-like design that symbolizes the harmony of nature and the infinite possibilities of Japanese craft and design. Yiside Bamboo is made in collaboration with Chinese artist Qian Lihuai, and realizes the creative tradition of bamboo weaving in a unique way for Valextra. The dynamic pattern, created using the highly skilled technique of bamboo marquetry, is inspired by the windows of the Duomo in Milan, Valextra’s hometown, and the architecture of Lihuai’s hometown of Wuzhen and its historic waterways. Iside La Filature was conceived by French textile artist Sandrine Torredemer, known as La Filature. She embroidered the iconic closure of the Iside handbag with tiny silhouettes of iconic Milanese and Parisian figures. She also embroiders Valextra customers’ unique emblems and figures on custom orders, showcasing her outstanding craftsmanship. Sportami Via, in collaboration with the design studio and the textile crafts institute Un Pizzo, has put the spotlight on the ancient art of Pizzo di Cantù. Founders Agnese Selva and Bettina Colombo used a cylindrical tool to create a 3-strand tubular rope made in the traditional Tombolo technique from Cantù, which they then woven into Valextra’s
multidimensional Millepunte leather. Stay tuned for more
collaborations to come.
