He then participated in K-1 and became world champion in 2003 and 2008. His career record is 55 wins, 6 losses, and 2 draws in 63 fights. He retired from active duty at the age of 30 on New Year’s Eve 2009, much to the regret of his fans. He is currently active as a martial arts commentator and celebrity, and has his own YouTube channel “Masato Channel,” which has over 500,000 subscribers. His recent hobby is touring on his Harley Davidson, and in his private life he is the father of three children and is married to actor Yazawa Shin.
