This technique, performed in-house by our artisans, clearly demonstrates Girard-Perregaux’s commitment to the finest craftsmanship. Enamel is a precise mixture of powdered silica, red lead, potash and soda, which, when combined with metal oxides, gives off a unique color. It is meticulously applied in layers and fired 5 to 10 times in a kiln at approximately 800°C to create a dial with a magnificent shine. The unpredictable nature of this process means that some dials will have slight imperfections that prevent them from being recognized as finished. However, those that are successful are timeless masterpieces that will stand the test of time without fading or deterioration. In addition to the attractive bluish grey hue, the sunburst Franké dial beneath the translucent enamel layer enhances the brilliance and depth. It was only natural that enamel was chosen for this Laureato dial, as it brings depth and subtle color changes. Enamel is a fascinating material in itself, and was chosen to adorn this new model forever, unchanging over time. Its beauty is the result of Grand Feu enamel, which requires a highly technical technique. In-house design that pays homage to heritage While the dial steals the show, everything else stays true to the Laureato design. The tonneau-shaped case is topped by a circular base and topped by a distinctive octagonal bezel, creating a play of shapes and light. The alternating polished and satin finishes enhance the intricate design of the stainless steel case. With its slim lines and integrated bracelet, the Laureato is known for its comfort and timeless style. The hours and minutes are indicated by rhodium-plated baton-shaped hands, while the slender central seconds hand features a counterweight inspired by the iconic gold bridge, a subtle nod to Girard-Perregaux’s DNA. The date window at 3 o’clock is elegantly designed with white numerals on a disc in the same color as the dial. Inner precision power New “Laureato Infinite Gray” Like the original model from 1975, this model is equipped with the Caliber GP01800 automatic movement, assembled in-house in La Chaux-de-Fonds. It is only 3.97 mm thick and has a power reserve of approximately 54 hours. Every detail of the movement reflects Girard-Perregaux’s strict standards: a pink gold rotor with curved Côtes de Genève stripes, bridges with straight Côtes de Genève stripes, mirror-polished screws, beveled edges, circular-grained mainplate and gold engravings. These exquisite finishes are testament to the high watchmaking expertise on which the brand has built its reputation for more than 230 years.
