Jacob & Co. first designed two intricately sculpted dancing elephants inspired by the legendary Bugatti Type 41 Royale. This is a tribute to the sculptures of Rembrandt Bugatti, the brother of Ettore Bugatti and a famous sculptor. The two graceful elephants are designed in a symmetrical, close-knit style that characterizes the design of Lalique table clocks. The title of the piece, “Calandre,” means “radiator grille” in French, and pays homage to Bugatti’s French roots, leading to the iconic horseshoe grille. Set atop the grille detail is the Bugatti’s crimson emblem, known to car enthusiasts and collectors around the world as the “Bugatti Macaron.” And behind the

Historically, this complication was developed to improve the accuracy of vertically fixed watches. Founded in 1922, the workshop brings together the best of techniques honed over the years to create unparalleled transparency and brilliance. Molten, hot crystal is poured into special steel molds, cooled and solidified, and transformed into a crystal object. He made many radiator caps for automobiles and watches, and one of the styles of Lalique’s watches was a design with two figures placed symmetrically on the dial, leaning against each other, and framing the dial with graceful lines.
