It was held at the Expo site on Tuesday, June 24th, and was centered around a
diaper-themed talk show and diaper collection. People of all backgrounds, including race, body type, age, faith, and physical condition, could participate, and many projects were implemented that allowed people to have fun and see diapers as something familiar. In the “Diaper Collection,” where various innovative diapers were announced, diaper manufacturers, underwear manufacturers, traditional craft companies, and others participated, rather than existing products, and 31 diapers with designs that everyone can enjoy fashion were presented in the form of a fashion show. Adult diapers, which tend to be a psychological burden when worn, were introduced to the world as a fashionable item while maintaining their functionality. Collaboration with Wacoal Our university collaborated with Wacoal Corporation, which is participating in this event, and presented designs proposed by students. The fashion course has long been working with Wacoal in industry-academia collaboration, providing leftover materials from the product manufacturing process and creating sustainable works. As part of efforts to achieve the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) set forth by the Expo, we revived what had previously been discarded materials into new works, and came up with a design that would dispel the negative image of diapers in the past and allow everyone to enjoy diapers in a stylish way.
