By returning or reusing products via post, packaging waste and CO2 emissions are reduced by more than 85%. The Sustainable Activities Award is given to businesses that have engaged in outstanding environmental conservation initiatives or environmental awareness activities, contributed to the realization of a sustainable society, and contributed to the healthy development of logistics. Comvey, in collaboration with Japan Post, developed the zero-waste packaging “Share Bag®.” Comvey focused on the labor-intensive process of collecting and recycling cardboard, as well as the CO2 emissions generated during the process. Comvey developed reusable packaging bags and encouraged e-commerce businesses to adopt them. Comvey’s efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and realize sustainable logistics, including through a business model that includes consumers, led to the company receiving the Sustainable Activity Award. Overview Comvey has collaborated with Japan Post to develop “Share Bag(R),” an eco-friendly package that can be returned to a mailbox and reused over 100 times. This package is available to e-commerce businesses and general consumers. Compared to cardboard, this reduces CO2 emissions by over 85% and reduces packaging stress for consumers. Furthermore, because the cardboard box assembly process is eliminated and the box is smaller in volume than cardboard, it also reduces packaging time in warehouses and reduces storage space for materials. ■Award ceremony scene
