The images you see are archive key visuals taken by Oida in Salt Lake City specifically for ebure. The magnificent scenery of salt fields, where colors overlap like a palette and eventually fade back to pure white. This scene resonates with the philosophy of ebure, which takes its name from the Latin word for “ivory” and is rooted in the attention to detail that goes into every single color of the material. The photographs, which capture the salt fields, whose colors change moment by moment depending on the sun and water level, like paintings, are works of art that are typical of Oida, who is also a painter.
