The biggest feature is that it uses a “titanium core nanoshell” case. This case is not coated, but is completed using a special process in which the grade 5 titanium case is soaked in ITR2 (high performance composite resin) and the solidified block is carved down to 0.4mm. The titanium case and 0.4mm ITR2 (high-performance composite resin) case represents a new technology in modern watch case engineering that is ultra-light, resilient, and durable. What is ITR2 (Innovant technipue resine revolution)? ITR2 is a patented, high-performance composite resin that combines the strength, transparency, and lightness of metal, and was introduced to the watch industry in 2014 to create lightweight, strong cases. Both the formulation and manufacturing method have been adapted to meet Chronoswiss’ special requirements and are used around the titanium case of the Delphis Firestarter. The entire titanium case is immersed in a vacuum-sealed liquid resin, and the solidified block is milled to a thickness of 0.4mm using a 5-axis CNC machine, and finally polished by hand. Since it is glued to the case, it cannot be removed, but small scratches can be polished to make it a beautiful case again.

Since its original release in 1996, the Delphis collection remains one of Chronoswiss’ most iconic designs. The distinctive dial of the Delphis is accented with a half-moon-shaped upper retrograde minute, a jumping hour mechanism at 12 o’clock, and a small seconds dial at 6 o’clock. The 18K white gold dial is decorated with fire enamel, which has been hand-applied in five layers. The dials of the Delphis series have curved surfaces, and the process of applying enamel to this curved surface requires extremely advanced technology, and is one of the traditional techniques inherited by Chronoswiss. At its heart is the in-house C.6004 movement, developed in collaboration with Raju Perret, which boasts a power reserve of 55 hours. Limited to 50 pieces worldwide.
