Even before that, I had been involved in making shoes, and I was passionate about shoemaking and pursuing the possibilities of footwear. Making setta began as a challenge to fuse traditional Japanese techniques with modern fashion. Shoes made by shoemakers can only be sold at shoemakers. Although there was such a trend, we believed that shoes should be more casual and free. Thanks to connections with people in the fashion industry, we have created a fusion of setta and sandals. The first setta sandal, “Sanda,” was born by incorporating the technology and knowledge unique to a shoemaker, such as ease of wear, finish, and material selection. Since then, our lightweight and extremely comfortable setta sandals have been loved by our customers, and have continued to evolve with different characteristics, such as the sneaker type. This is the culmination of a shoe store in Asakusa, Tokyo that has pursued everyday happiness starting with shoes. More comfortable, more fashionable, more Japanese, more modern.
