Regarded by watch enthusiasts as one of the masterpieces in watch history, the Navitimer is now equipped with Caliber B19, Breitling’s first manufactured movement equipped with a perpetual calendar mechanism, greatly enhancing its functionality. This movement features day, date, month and moon phase functions. After nearly 100 years, only minor adjustments are required. Beloved by celebrities including Miles Davis and Serge Gainsbourg, the Navitimer was designed in 1952 for the International Owner-Pilot Association (AOPA). The watch became a symbol of the jet era. The rotary slide rule, known as the first wristwatch-type flight computer, was able to perform a variety of navigational calculations. Developed as a groundbreaking wrist-mounted instrument for pilots, the Navitimer’s influence extended beyond the aviation industry. With its unique design, it has gained attention as a style icon. This Navitimer is equipped with Caliber B19, Breitling’s first in-house developed perpetual calendar chronograph movement, introduced last year to commemorate Breitling’s 140th anniversary. This latest Navitimer features a 43mm stainless steel case, an ice blue dial with a platinum bezel, and a detailed moon phase at 12 o’clock.

The Navitimer B19 is available with either a black alligator leather strap with a comfortable folding buckle or a 7-strand stainless steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp. Breitling CEO Georges Kern said: “There are many criteria that must be met to be called an icon, and the Navitimer deserves it. Equipped with a perpetual calendar chronograph movement, the B19 will keep accurate time for up to 100 years. It is a masterpiece that will continue to keep time for generations to come.”

Manufacture Caliber 01 released in 2009, considered the gold standard for chronograph movements. The B19 combines Breitling’s chronograph expertise with a complex calendar feature that automatically corrects for leap years and 28-, 30-, and 31-day months. In addition to rigorous independent accuracy testing for COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Certification Institute) certification, Caliber B19 has also passed aging simulations. The simulation includes 16 years of aging simulations, including extreme loads such as 100,000 windings of the crown, 3,456,000 revolutions of the balance, and 60,000 shocks of 500G.
