The Women’s Pavilion, jointly exhibited by the Cabinet Office, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Cartier, and the Japan Association for Expo 2025, focuses on the foresight that opens the future and the essential role of women in driving global development, advancing equality, and guiding new generations. From Expo 2020 Dubai to Expo 2025 Osaka/Kansai, the Women’s Pavilion’s mission is to create a legacy that will be passed on to future generations, unravel human wisdom, and demonstrate the power of collaboration. It is about building a more just and lasting future, one that resonates across generations. In keeping with the Expo’s theme, the Women’s Pavilion’s concept is “Living Together, Toward a Brighter Future” and celebrates the power of change and the potential of women to shape a better future. At the press conference, Hiroyuki Ishiwa, Secretary General of the 2025 Japan World Expo Association, and Jun Miyaji, President & CEO of Cartier Japan, took the stage. The presentation featured the pavilion’s architecture by Yuko Nagayama, the pavilion’s lead architect, and the Women’s Pavilion, which was designed by Eze Devlin, the global artistic lead. We announced the interior and contents of the pavilion, as well as the collaborators who
participated in this pavilion, including Banana Yoshimoto, who will appear as one of the main characters in the pavilion. Additionally, the audience watched video messages from Junko Mihara, Minister of State for Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality, Cyrille Vigneron, Chairman of Cartier Culture & Philanthropy, and actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, who is a strong supporter of this pavilion and will appear in the final room of the pavilion with a message.
