https://theshopyohjiyamamoto.jp/shop/e/egymono/ Ground Y is pleased to announce a collaboration collection with “Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 2 Fire Rat”. “Mononokai” is derived from “Bakeneko”, a part of “Ayakashi”, which was broadcast on the late-night anime slot “Noitamina” in 2006, and since it was aired as a TV anime series the following year, it has continued to be deeply loved for 18 years. In commemoration of “Mononoke the Movie Chapter 2 Fire Rat” to be released on March 14, 2025, the original worldview of the work has been reconstructed with the creation of Ground Y. This collection skillfully incorporates symbolic motifs from Mononoke the Movie, such as a dress that depicts the main character, the medicine seller Tenbin, in a bright all-over pattern, a blouse that depicts the O-oku and Great Hall where the work is set, a medicine seller’s figure, and a paisley-patterned scarf that resembles the medicine seller’s costume, creating a special lineup that can be enjoyed as fashion. In addition, with the theme of “Fire Rat” being the key to this work, a design with a fiery, lively and mysterious feel has also been introduced. The “Mononokai Stripe”, which was specially woven for this collaboration, is a unique material that combines washi paper, silk, and cotton, and the aesthetic sense of this work, which has the impressive texture of washi paper, is reflected in the textile.
