Started in 2009, by fiscal 2024, we have collected approximately 8.84 million items of clothing from a total of approximately 1.7 million customers. The collected clothing is recycled into RPF (solid fuel) and used as an alternative energy source, as well as recycled yarn that is used as raw material for textile products to produce blankets and work gloves. With the cooperation of the Japanese Red Cross Society, the blankets are used to provide support to disaster-stricken areas and developing countries both domestically and internationally. To date, we have donated a total of 46,100 tickets to areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Great Sichuan Earthquake in China, and people in poverty. We also distribute work gloves in a variety of situations, including disaster relief, forest conservation, and educational activities. Furthermore, some clothing that can still be used is offered at a charity price at the environmental concept shop “Onward Reuse Park” (Kichijoji, Tokyo/EC site), with the proceeds used for sustainable activities. “Onward Green Campaign” Official Website URL: https://www.onward.co.jp/green_campaign/
