“Happiness” social contribution activity that brings smiles to people’s faces through fashion, inviting 63 children from 12 child care facilities in Nagoya City who will be entering or graduating from elementary school this year, and giving away formal wear made by the company. In the first half of the event, we held workshops to make eco-bags using our T-shirts and flower decorations using fabric scraps. After the children created their one-of-a-kind creations using the T-shirts and fabrics of their choice, they celebrated their opening day with snacks from Komeda Coffee, a franchisee of our company. At the end, each child was handed a formal wear made by our company, which brought smiles to the children’s faces. “Happiness” activities began in 2011, and every year we invite children who are about to graduate from elementary school to our headquarters for workshops, celebratory dinners, and events to give away formal clothes. Continuing from last year, when we resumed face-to-face events that had been canceled for four years due to the novel coronavirus, which has been rampant since the beginning of 2020, this year’s event was a fun time that brought smiles to many children’s faces. To date, Happiness has donated a total of 18,994 clothes to 7,821 children. As a company rooted in the local community, we will continue to contribute to enriching the lives of people living in the area through fashion.

[Main activities] Spring: Invite children who are graduating from elementary school to our head office for a workshop where they can enjoy fashion, and present them with a set of formal clothes made by our company for entrance and graduation ceremonies (face-to-face events will be suspended from 2020 to 2023, and only donations of formal clothes will be resumed in 2024) Summer: On-site workshops at each facility and casual clothing gifts (suspended from 2020) Career education through “mock interviews” for children about to graduate from high school Autumn: Exhibition of face painting booths at various festivals held at each facility (suspended from 2020, resumed in 2024)
