The iconic Zenith chronographs Chronomaster Sport, Defy Skyline Chronograph, and Pilot Big Date Flyback will be wrapped in blue ceramic specially developed for this occasion. Each of the three timepieces is limited to 160 pieces and can be purchased individually or in a special anniversary box set that can hold multiple pieces. The name “Zenith” is said to have been inspired by the star-filled night sky. While gazing at the stars, Zenith founder Georges Fabre-Jacot pinned the height of excellence he was striving for on the zenith, the highest point a celestial body reaches in the sky. Since then, the Maison has continued to pursue perfection in every aspect of watchmaking. Based on this philosophy, blue has become Zenith’s signature color, representing the infinite expanse of the sky.

The Maison’s founder, Georges Fabre-Jacot, applied for the trademark for the French word Pilot in 1888 and the English word Pilot in 1904. Zenith soon became known as a manufacturer of pilot’s watches and aviation instruments. Zenith timepieces were on the wrists of great people who dared to achieve the impossible, including Louis Blériot, who became the first person in the world to fly across the English Channel in 1909. To commemorate the Maison’s 160th anniversary, the Pilot Big Date Flyback is now available in a striking blue model with a one-tone finish on the case, dial, and strap. The bright blue 42.5mm case is crafted from microblasted ceramic and features a titanium crown and rectangular pushpieces. The hands and large Arabic numerals on the wavy dial are coated with luminescent paint, making them highly legible in all conditions. Powering the Pilot Big Date Flyback 160th Edition is the El Primero 3652 caliber, an evolution of Zenith’s legendary
high-frequency automatic chronograph. This movement integrates a big date and a flyback function. The big date display features a large two-digit display that changes the date in just 0.007 seconds thanks to a patented compliance mechanism. Also, the pilot True to
chronograph tradition, the flyback function allows you to reset and restart the chronograph with a single push. This allows aviators to skip the traditional three-step operation of start, stop, and reset, and save them the trouble of making calculations during flight. The sapphire crystal case back reveals the movement, whose customized rotor is engraved with the 160th anniversary emblem. This special limited edition of 160 pieces comes with a blue Cordura effect rubber strap and a white Cordura effect strap with a steel triple folding buckle. At the heart of the watch is the El Primero 3600 caliber, a modern version of the legendary high-frequency chronograph originally launched in 2019. This movement displays 1/10 second increments with amazing clarity, and the chronograph seconds hand completes one revolution every 10 seconds. This is 6 times faster than a standard chronograph. The movement operates at a high frequency of 5Hz and accurately measures 1/10 of a second on the chapter ring scale. The second hand stop mechanism also allows for accurate time setting. The movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back, with the words 160th Anniversary engraved on the satin-brushed rotor.
