The newly released MADRID and ARIZONA sandals are made of natural-looking raffia with an elaborate piping finish, making them sophisticated sandals perfect for adult women. MADRID was designed by Karl Birkenstock in 1963 as BIRKENSTOCK’s first sandal. In pursuit of foot health and natural walking, the sandals incorporate cork and latex footbeds, which were originally insoles, and are inspired by the architectural style known as Brutalism. The exposed cork footbed remains an icon that characterizes BIRKENSTOCK products. In MADRID and ARIZONA, the natural cork footbed perfectly matches the raffia material, adding a light and loose feel to bare feet in the summer. The large, sparkling buckle is a popular summer item, and brings out the natural and black colors. From April 12th, it will be available in two colors: natural, full of natural charm, and black, which looks chic, at BIRKENSTOCK’s directly managed stores and official online store.
