ITOCHU Fashion System Co., Ltd. Press release: April 11, 2025 Signed a master license agreement for the KINCHO brand – Development of room wear, socks, and interior products that repel dust mites – Itochu Fashion System Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ifs) (head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO Takaaki Komatani) is a subsidiary of Dainippon Pyrethrum Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as KINCHO) (headquarters: 1-4-11 Tosabori, Nishi-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka Prefecture, President and Representative Director Kamiyama). We have developed “Danaway”, an anti-mite treatment for textiles, and have entered into a license agreement with Naohide for the “KINCHO” and “Danaway” brands for clothing such as underwear, pajamas, socks, and bedding. As the first step of this brand, we plan to roll out functional fiber products using fibers that repel dust mites from spring/summer 2025. ifs will utilize the know-how it has cultivated in the licensing business of apparel and fashion accessories to develop functional products that respond to people’s consumer mindset regarding hygiene, which has changed due to the coronavirus pandemic, by signing sublicense agreements with leading apparel-related manufacturers and other companies, and will comprehensively produce the brand. In collaboration with Renfro Japan Co., Ltd. and Moririn Co., Ltd., we have developed loungewear, socks, interior goods, pet supplies, and more as products for spring/summer 2025. Starting with sales at Shimamura Co., Ltd. on April 15th, sales will begin at specialty stores, mass retailers, etc. ◎Product features It is well known that dust mites live in storage areas such as closets, and insect repellents for clothing are now also given dust mite repellent properties. In recent years, more and more consumers have been asking for more measures to be taken to prevent dust mites on clothing. In this environment, ifs developed a process for textiles using an anti-mite agent developed by KINCHO, a long-established insecticide manufacturer. At that time, we were able to compensate for the weaknesses of conventional dust mite repellent fibers by compensating for the decrease in effectiveness due to UV rays and adding durability to washing. As described above, “Daniaway”, a tick repellent treatment using Kincho chemicals, was born by combining the knowledge of KINCHO and ifs. The dust mite repellent effect has been tested by an accredited testing organization of the Interior Fabrics Performance Evaluation Council, and has cleared the same voluntary standards. ◎Product lineup We are developing a series of textile products that have been treated with “Daniaway,” a dust mite repellent treatment that has been shown to be effective against indoor dust mites. Together with our development partner companies, we will continue to develop room wear, bedding products, interior products, and pet-related products (products for indoor use).
