The architectural principle that the essence of a building is defined by its internal space, the living space in which we live, also applies to fashion. In this area, which can be seen as a border zone, the relationship between the body and clothing is cultivated, taking on different aspects depending on custom. In other words, it is the relationship between “clothes for the body” and “clothes for the body.” Fall 2025 With the collection, Women’s Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri aimed to explore and connect the elements that define the dressing habits of cultures around the world. Maria Grazia Chiuri therefore studies clothing in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional terms. One example is the kimono jacket, a follow-up to Monsieur Dior’s experiment. In the Fall/Winter 1957 collection, Monsieur Dior respects the silhouette of the kimono while producing the Diopard and Dio Coat, which are designed to be worn over the kimono. Amid this interplay of inspirations and references that shape fashion, an album about a trip to Japan, including a collection designed by Marc Bohan that was unveiled in Tokyo in 1971, weaves a story with fascinating characters. Also in attendance were Yayako Uchida, Yuri Ebihara, Kaya Kiyohara, Fumiya Takahashi, Makiko Takizawa, Ryoma Takeuchi, Rei Dan, Ai Tominaga, Riko Nagase, Ann Nakamura, Michi, Ayaka Miyoshi, and Riho Yoshioka. She also won the Best Actress award at the 76th Emmy Awards, becoming the first Asian to win the award for Best Actress. Glamorous global celebrities such as ambassador Anna Sawai, Sophie Marceau, Sonam Kapoor, Diva Cassel, and Lily James also visited from all over the world. Cultural figures with ties to the Maison, including Shohei Shigematsu, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Yuriko Takagi, and Tsuyoshi Tane, also came to celebrate this special night.
