Lee (commonly known as Bob Lee), the founder of Hunting World, the “Borneo Charity Project” was started in 2008 to connect the lives of wild animals living on the island of Borneo. We sell charity goods, and a portion of the proceeds from these sales are used to support local biodiversity conservation activities through the certified NPO Borneo Conservation Trust Japan. A collaboration project with artists will be added to this charity goods starting in the fall of 2024. The second edition, Spring 2025, is a collaboration with SHOGO SEKINE, an illustrator with ties to New York, the birthplace of the brand. Having come to realize the preciousness of life while living with rescue dogs, he sympathized with the philosophy of this project, and the collaboration was realized. The pop illustrations, which combine plants and animals, depict a bright and hopeful future for Borneo, which is known as a treasure trove of life. ■SHOGO SEKINE comments I personally love animals and own a dog, so it was natural for me to sympathize with the Borneo Charity Project. Because these animals cannot speak, I feel that it is necessary for us humans to take good care of them and create a comfortable environment for them to live in. I truly admire the attitude of Hunting World, which has continued to work for Borneo’s animals for many years, and I am very honored to be able to be involved in this way. When thinking about the item, I wanted it to be a design that could be used on a daily basis. I thought about the people who would use it, and asked them to make sure it was fully functional, and I expressed my personality with handwritten letters and pop colors. It’s perfect for outdoor activities and long trips where you have to carry a lot of luggage, and I think it’ll also be very useful as a secondary bag while traveling. Also, Hunting World and I have something in common: New York, and the energetic, colorful, and pop atmosphere of that city may have served as inspiration for this design. ■Product overview The lineup includes tote bags (available in two sizes, M/L) that combine functionality and design that can be enjoyed by genderless people, as well as trendy shoulder bags. The lining is also fully decorated with SHOGO SEKINE illustrations. Furthermore, each bag comes with an easy-to-use pouch with some of the illustrations printed on it. ■Tote bag The medium size is a compact size that is perfect for everyday use, making it perfect for walking around town or going out for a short time. The L size has ample capacity to store A4 documents and laptops, making it suitable for commuting, traveling, and outdoor activities.
