While reading Marie-France Pochenat’s book Christian Dior, un destin, a unique work full of fascinating anecdotes about the life of the founder of the House, Monsieur Dior, she was inspired by the pages about his mansion Moulin du Coudre in Milly-la-Foret, a wonderful haven of peace. A three-part hymn of boldness and poetry, the collection’s first chapter, Dior Gourmandies, pays a delicious and humorous homage to Monsieur Dior’s love of gastronomy. Dresses in vibrant colors evoke delicious forest treasures such as strawberries, and combine unexpected materials, including gabardine meets
embroidered tulle. Special accessories complete the series, such as the small “Bobby” bag in Dior Oblique jacquard and irresistibly playful charms that offer surprises. The second story, entitled “Dior Clover,” depicts the irreplaceable beauty of nature for Dior and invites children and adults alike to a moment of respite in the Fontainebleau forest. Clovers, flowers and stripes decorate the exquisite pieces in a delicate green palette. The final chapter of this escape from everyday life, Dior Beach, holds the promise of eternal summer. Bermuda shorts, skirts and summer ensembles are adorned with ‘Madras’ style motifs, with subdued bright colors embodying a rediscovery of the sweetness of life and the joys of childhood.
