The patterns drawn using the traditional Japanese dyeing technique “tsutsu-gaki” are motifs of grapes, pine and wisteria flowers that are often used in dyeing, but when combined with NYA- and the logo designed for each pattern, it creates a unique world. [Artist comment] “The expressions in tube drawings have an awkward yet deep flavor, so if you’re not careful, you end up with a “warm” design. It’s not that it’s bad, but I don’t think it’s enough to impress the customer.It’s not that I want to do anything that’s too edgy, but I’m deeply influenced by traditional techniques, and I love that. I want people to be surprised by something new and fresh.This time, I wanted to create a design that is both nostalgic and new, with an exquisite sense of discomfort that can only be achieved through collaboration. Representative of the limited liability company “Kamide Gei” Sixth generation of Kutani ware kiln “Kamide Choemon Kiln”. Born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1981. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2006, majoring in oil painting. From the same year, he was involved in many projects, presentations, and designs as the successor to the Kutani ware kiln “Kamide Choemon Kiln,” which was founded in 1879. In 2014, he established Kamide Shigei LLC and is involved in product planning and package design for companies. In addition to producing porcelain, he continues to present initiatives that add newness to tradition, such as “KUTANI SEAL,” which utilizes Kutani ware transfer technology.
