We have prepared a new project for the “KOMEHYO Kids Academy” where you can enjoy making remade jewelry, and the special collaboration project “KOMEHYO Kids Academy Premium” with Brother Industries, a local company in Aichi Prefecture. The premium project is a content that allows you to feel the “fun of making” even more by upcycling scraps of Japanese fabric that are left over when kimonos are purchased at the KOMEHYO Nagoya Main Store Kimono Hall using Brother sewing machines. It is an event that allows children to show off their creativity, and is perfect as a summer vacation independent study. In order to realize our vision of turning relay use from an idea to a culture, we aim to let children experience the joy of relay use to their heart’s content. *Relay use is Komehyo’s unique concept that “things fulfill their mission only when they are passed down (relayed) from person to person and used effectively (used).” In 2023, the Japan Reuse Industry Association, a general incorporated association, has designated the 8th as “Reuse Day” in order to raise awareness of reuse, as the number “8” is lined up in the same shape as the infinity symbol (∞), which can be imagined as things continuing to circulate from person to person.
