(Headquarters: Shibuya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / Representative Director Hiroyuki Someya) with the concept of “high-quality casual clothes that go well with denim,” is collaborating with the women’s juvenile training school (correctional facility) “Aiko Joshi Gakuen” (Komae City, Tokyo) to announce that it will implement “Woman’s Fashion Education” as a new educational program that will contribute to the rehabilitation of girls. This is the first step in an initiative aimed at raising awareness about violence against women and their rights and actions, and the products were made using lace knitted from Aiko Girls’ School’s vocational guidance classes. In this series of production processes, we held a lecture-style class centered on Shinzone’s manufacturing, followed by a workshop where students and employees exchanged ideas for product development. In the end, Shinzone director and designer Yukiko Someya put together the vision and created kids baseball caps, baby bibs, and one-of-a-kind haute couture dresses. The collection will be on sale for a limited time at Shinzone Omotesando main store from International Women’s Day on March 8th. (Ends as soon as sold out) We will continue this initiative as a way to lovingly watch over the future of Aiko Girls’ High School students and support their return to society. As part of this effort, in order to deepen understanding of this project, we are planning to screen the film “A Girl Dreams at Dawn” (directed by documentarian Mehrdad Oskoi, winner of the Amnesty International Film Award in the Generation Division at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival), which is based on a girls’ rehabilitation facility in Iran, at Shinzone Omotesando Main Store on Saturday, March 29th.
