MOSS STUDIO “MOSS STUDIO” is a studio started in November 2021 by four people with different generations, thinking, gender, and industry. His
individuality is scattered and inconsistent, and he begins to create things as he pleases, returning to his childhood. While being amused, the distortions that result from deep rumination and the individuality of each person are sublimated into a single piece of creativity called “MOSS.” We maintain a stance of creating things from scratch with our own hands, and also produce video works, graphic designs, etc. in-house. Starting with artwork, the company has independently expanded into apparel, jewelry, and home goods. The video work “MATAGI-” to be released in 2024 was selected as a NOWNESS ASIA Staff Pick (Recommended Watch). Items that follow the image of the work are embroidered by hand one by one by craftsmen using Kiryu’s horizontal sewing machine, using a unique Japanese technique, and maintaining a stance of continuing to pursue the best materials over time. This time, a total of 3 types of jumpers and 1 long sleeve T-shirt will be released with the motif of the video work “MATAGI-” produced by MOSS STUDIO and starring Tsuyoshi Morita and directed by OSRIN. The jumper was designed by graphic designer Makoto Arai, with the main motif being the hairy monster that appears in the work. It is expressed using a special unique Japanese technique called “horizontal embroidery”, which is created one by one by hand by craftsmen using a horizontal sewing machine. In addition, the long-sleeve T-shirt uses a graphic of Tsuyoshi Morita, who plays the role of the demon who appears in the work, and by applying one-wash processing and two types of printing methods, it has a vintage-like finish with depth. The collaboration logo of WILDSIDE and MOSS STUDIO is printed on the cuffs. Both are special items where you can feel the commitment made by MOSS STUDIO. Jumpers and T-shirts with monochrome embroidery are sold exclusively at the WILDSIDE online platform and two WILDSIDE physical stores, while jumpers with colored embroidery are sold exclusively at the MOSS STUDIO online store. We will also release a key visual taken by photographer TAKAY. Tsuyoshi Morita and Rie Miyazawa appear as models, and the visuals deeply express MOSS STUDIO’s creativity.
