For over 100 years, Venini has combined the age-old traditions of glassmaking with the creativity of artists and designers. Among the famous people who collaborated with Venini is the architect Alessandro Mendini, born in Milan in 1931. During his artistic and professional career, he served as editor of a prestigious trade magazine and founded the avant-garde designer group Studio Alchimia in the 1970s. From 1987 until his death in 2019, he worked alongside Venini, fusing Murano’s glassmaking traditions with modern design innovations and leaving a lasting mark on the history of the glassworks. Damiani is currently holding “MENDINI for VENINI” at his Milan boutique in honor of Mendini. A selection of works from Venini’s archives are on display exclusively for this period. The exhibition offers a seamless journey through Mendini’s work, alongside Damiani’s exclusive jewellery. Also on display are the architect’s drawings selected in collaboration with the Alessandro Mendini Archive.
