We have a wide selection of items that use
traditional Japanese dyeing and weaving techniques, such as yukata with original patterns made using the traditional dyeing technique Chusen from Hamamatsu in Shizuoka Prefecture, the brand’s
representative yukata from the Ito Jakuchu series, toshibo made from cotton and linen thread from the Enshu region, and yukata with Tachiwaku patterns made using Arimatsu Narumi shibori. Hamamatsu Chusen Yukata / Boar’s Eye / NAVY 60,500 yen (tax included) Image

The “boar’s eye” pattern has been featured on temples and shrines, and has been said to ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune since ancient times. Shizuoka Prefecture Hamamatsu Sanchi “Chusen” In Hamamatsu, Chusen was widely practiced for dyeing hand towels, and it is said that in the Taisho era, this technique was used to begin dyeing yukata fabrics. It is characterized by the fact that the front and back sides of the fabric are dyed in the same way because the fabric is layered in a bellows shape and the dye is poured from above. Many of Jakuchu’s works, which mainly depict nature and animals, are very unique in their vivid expressions, so they have been used as patterns for yukata. This season’s new pattern, “Monkey and Monkey Picking Peaches,” is based on a work that features three monkeys trying to pick peaches from the tip of a branch and a detailed depiction of the branches and leaves. Ito Jakuchu Ito Jakuchu is also called a superstar in the Japanese art world. In July 2021, the culmination of his artistic activities, “Animals and Vegetables,” thirty widths, was designated as a national treasure. Jakuchu was born in 1716 (the first year of Kyoho) as the eldest son of Masuya, a wholesaler at the Nishiki Takakura vegetable market in central Kyoto, and was active in the arts in addition to his family business. In 1775 (Horeki 5), at the age of 40, he handed over the headship of the family to his second younger brother, built a studio in a quiet corner of Nishikikoji that he named Komakuso, and is said to have begun a life devoted to drawing. In addition to yukata, we also have a lineup of pants made from Awa Shijira fabric, taking advantage of the pattern of open collar shirts and Samue pants made with yukata fabric, which are popular every year. ■ Introducing the “Shimeobi” that lowers the hurdles of wearing kimono

Since the establishment of the brand, Y. & SONS has taken various approaches to lower the hurdle of tying the obi when wearing a kimono. This includes the development of kimono that can be fastened with a belt and a heiko obi made of wool and terry cloth. The newly developed “Shime-obi” utilizes the simple and easy-to-handle structure of “Date-jime” to create an obi that is as easy to handle as a Heiko obi, without sacrificing the dignified appearance of the traditional kaku obi. Shime obi / Hakata-ori / Onikasara presentation 29,700 yen (tax included) A new obi made in collaboration with Nishimura Orimono, the oldest Hakata-ori weaver. We adopted the pattern of “Onikasara Kenjo” which is a bold size representation of the traditional “Hanasara Kenjo”.

The leather used for the sandals is latigo leather, a durable material used for horse harnesses. It will take some time for the leather to stretch, but as the leather changes over time, such as its luster and feel, it will adapt to your feet and become a pair of shoes that you will become attached to.
